Task of the Webex was reviewing the structure of the RFT and allocate missing drafts.
It has been agreed that the division of the RFT into 2 parts is appropriate but that to avoid overlap a reshuffling of sections should be done. The work is not considered of highest priority, however, as the main concern is that of having all the missing texts ready for the f2f meeting. Therefore for the time being the chapters can remain as they are and we will do the editing when the text is available. It has been agreed that it will be beneficial both to respondents and evaluators (us) if a preproposal is submitted before the f2f meeting with manufacturers in order to provide feedback about the adherence of the intended proposal to the objectives of the RFT. This will save time and work of respondents. The preproposal can be an abstract of about 2 pages. We went section by section and understood that the parts that require substantial efforts are scope/objectives and requirements (SOA best practices and guidelines for media). A new allocation of work has been agreed as follows:
Part1 - Background information To complete the text under Precepts (Giorgio) to be moved under Part2 Reference Architecture Overview
Part1 - Scope To completely rewrite the text (John)
Part1 - Objectives To add some explanatory text before the lists (John?)
Part1 - Guidelines To remove duplications and incosistency To add a request for presubmission of an abstract before the meeting with vendors (JP) lower priority
Part2 - lines of business to provide text for Audiovisual Media file charactristics and handling (John)
Part2 - SOA best practices to write text for general requirements (IBM) including Discovery, Lifecycle, Behavior, Event management/handling, Message exchange patterns
Part2 - SOA best practices To write text for Time and Sync and Dedicated Hw (giorgio)
Part2 - SOA best practices To paste text on Media files handling and to write text for Security and Ownership and System Level Requirements (Peter)
Part2 - SOA best practices VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED for SLA management and Interoperability
Next webex will be March 4 at 17 CET as usual. No webex next week. This will be the last webex before the f2f meeting so it important that people show up and contribute. Please check the webex in the next days and read the texts as they are published. More e-mail interaction will help in speeding up the convergence process.
