ACTION: Michael Koetter to link BB to RFT when the BB is active
FIMS DEV MEETING, FIMS 1.0, NAB2012, GENEVA
It is clear that the FIMS DEV meeting will not discuss the RFT proposals, which is to be done by the business board.
The focus of the FIMS DEV meeting is:
- FIMS 1.0 after a decision is made on refactoring, first things on Monday morning
- discuss and plan NAB2012
AMWA BOARD QUESTIONS TO FIMS
- AMWA wants to develop in the field of certification. This will likely have an impact on FIMS. To be followed relying on regular information from AMWA.
- The AMWA Board has REQUESTED a formal monthly report from FIMS. This doesn't sound reasonable. EBU doesn't require such formal regular reports and relies on participants actively involved in meetings to report on activities and progress. Starting to respond to such request should be avoided beyond informal objective reports from educated active participants. [see below for more...]
ACTION: Brad Gilmer to report on EBU best practices to the AMWA board.
After further discussion on the reporting point on the adm reflector. The following procedure is being proposed:
"If requested by their parent body, persons acting as liaisons between FIMS and AMWA or EBU (as defined in the FIMS ToRs), can take the lead in writing activity reports at the frequency their organisation see fit. However, formal reports shall be reviewed and endorsed by FIMS_ADM before dissemination."
This also means that it is not the responsibility of the FIMS board to initiate reporting and fims_adm shall not be taken for responsible if regular reporting is not provided as requested by the liaison persons (when so requested).
