Main topics addressed (Day 1)

  • Timetable for first preliminary specification (taking account of needs for proposed NAB2011 demo)
 Aim to 'hand-over' to FIMS by Christmas as follows: 
   - 16th November: circulate initial preliminary draft to FIMS for comment

   - 29th November: deadline for FIMS feedback to specification group

   - 1st December (10am EST): Webex to review interfaces (capture, transform, transfer)

   - 14th December: Webex (10am EST) if required to clarify/resolve comments on first preliminary draft

   - 21st December: circulate updated preliminary draft to FIMS
  • Sony input on media centric issues, including extension of profile concept in the case of Capture
  • IBM input on Media Service Communication (Section 8 of preliminary draft)

 2.  Conformance language needs to be applied correctly

 4.  Text in 3.2.5 and 3.2.6 needs to be moved to new Section or Appendix
 5.  Section 5.1 What does it mean to be FIMS compliant? (FIMS Management)
 6.  Section 6: comments from Shibata-san to be considered (IBM)
 7.  Section 7: comments from Shibata-san to be considered (IBM)
 8.  Section 7.1.2.1 Location/Identity/Usage: what do these mean? 
 9.  Section 7.1.3 More description of Services to be added in Tables (Sony)
 10. Section 7.2 SLAs (not required for first edition)
 11. Section 8: complete review of schemas (Sony, All)
 12. Section 9.1.2/9.1.3/9.1.4 to be moved/merged with Section 8 (IBM)
 13. Best Practice documents: should these be Annexes or separate documents?
 14. Section 8.2.2.1: What is the minimum set of technical metadata properties? (views from Vendors please)
